Bring Your Best Soup to the Table

Thursday, 1 October 2026 | Nigeria Eats at Bistrot Samantha

What soup tells the story of where you come from?

As part of Nigeria Eats, we’re inviting cooks, home cooks, chefs, families and food lovers to bring a pot of soup to The Regional Soup Table, a communal tasting celebrating Nigeria’s regional food traditions.

Bring a soup that represents your culture, your region, your community or your home. It could be a family recipe passed down through generations, something you grew up eating, a soup particular to your part of Nigeria, or a dish you simply believe more people should know about.

Bring the Soup. Share the Story.

We don’t just want to taste your food. We want to hear its story.

Where does the soup come from? What is it traditionally eaten with? Who taught you to make it? Are there particular ingredients or techniques that define it? And why is this the soup you chose to bring to the table?

From well-known favourites to regional dishes rarely found on restaurant menus, every soup has a place at the table.

This is not a competition. There is no judging and there is no “best” region.

It is an opportunity to taste, share, learn and celebrate the extraordinary diversity of Nigerian food.

Bringing a Pot?

Everyone is welcome to participate.

Please bring your soup fully cooked, clearly labelled and safely prepared and transported in a food-safe container, ready to be shared as tasting portions.

Include the name of your soup and the region, state, community or culture it represents. Come prepared to tell us a little about its origins and why you chose it.
